Miami is one of my favorites cities in the world, hands down. I'm lucky enough to go there fairly often. Whenever i think of Miami, i think of relaxed, carefree, be-yourself time. Today we booked our flights to spend our summer holidays there (well, technically it's gonna be winter, but it always feels like summer there), and i'm obviously ecstatic. Of course, i still have to go through five (school) months until i set foot on that plane... but if i could fast-forward time, this is what i'd be wearing while doing it.

Yesterday it was Pat birthday. Happy birthday Pat!

Even though it was FREEZING cold, we went out to celebrate. Had lunch, dinner and a cozy nap in between (best thing to do when the temperature has a hard time reaching the 39F).

Exactly a year ago i wore the same dress, and i haven't worn it again until today. I feel like i'm wearing the same stuff over and over. You know how for a certain period of time you get attach to something and wear it almost everyday? Like a pair of jeans, a jacket, a pair of shoes/boots...

I really wanna go see Harry Potter tonight, anyone's seen it?

PS. Don't forget to about the giveaway! Please remember to enter a name + email address to enter.

Vintage coat; Paula Cahen d'Anvers knit coat; Forever 21 dress; Gap scarf and beanie; Forever 21 bag; Paula Cahen d'Anvers boots.

Contest: Beauty Standard and Chickdowntown!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Winner announced here.

I'm joining forces with the amazing people at Chicdowntown to bring you guys a way to say 'thank you' in the shape of a giveaway! Isn't it awesome?! The winner will be able to choose an item from Mink Pink!

They have such a wide variety of items that it was really hard to choose, so they're giving one lucky winner to pick something she'll love. One of the items i particularly liked is a ripped denim skirt that i'd pair with a J.A.K. Plaid shirt for a relaxed/casual look.

Guidelines:

Leave a comment with a valid name and email address (comments that don't include any of these two won't enter the contest).

The contest ends on Tuesday August 4th at 12.00 AM (EST).

I'll contact the winner once the contest is over and she'll have time to get back to me within the next 48 hours. If she doesn't a new winner will be picked.

The contest is open to all U.S. residents only.

If you have a Twitter or a Facebook account, i'd seriously recommend that you follow Chickdowntown's Twitter and Facebook fan page since they're constantly updating about their exclusive sales, contests, giveaways and discount codes. They're always offering special deals like this, so why don't take advantage of it?

Over the weekend Pat's band had their first video shoot ever! It was ridiculously awesome. We shot between Sat. 6pm - Sun. 12pm... it was a looooong night, but we had such a great time that nothing else mattered. Not because it's his band or because i might be in some of the shots (jk!), but i'm positive the video will turn out amazing. Here're some 'behind the scenes' pictures, hope you like them.

Unknown pleather jacket; Paula Cahen d'Anvers cut-off shots; Forever 21 long-sleeve tee; Wanama shirt; UO tights; Paruolo boots; Forever 21 headband and necklace.

A few seasons ago, everyone went crazy over that Luella collection we'll all remember. Yes, i'm talking about their Spring 2008 collection. From Forever 21 knock-off skirts, to the comeback of Doc Martens, to the floral details that started to appear almost everywhere. Me, being the late trend-follower that i am, and living in a place where trends get even later, took a little longer to jump on the bandwagon. But of course that when i saw this skirt displayed in a local store's window (back in December 08), i had to have it. It was the closest i could get to recreate said collection's look.

I got tagged by Lacy's Mess (thank you!) a few days ago, so here it goes:

10 (random) things about myself:

I haven't really developed the reader side of me. The only books i've read are the ones they gave me in high

school; i get distracted easily. Not something i'm proud of.

Trash tv is my favorite. Reality shows, contest shows, make-over shows... you name it, i'll watch it.

I've developed an addiction to sweets over the past few years. Once i finish a meal, i instantly start craving

something sweet.

I can't wait to get married to Pat and start out life together. Yeah, i know, super cheesy confession.

I'm the youngest and only girl of four children.

Some days sleeping until noon makes me happy.

Even though breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, i hardly ever have more than a coffee/tea or something to

drink every morning.

Right now i'm listening to Franz Ferdinand, but i'm not always that cool.

I'm positive i'll live in another country at some point in my life and for a certain amount of time.

Every time i do one of these things, i think to myself 'yeah, i'm gonna write some really cool things' and end up with nothing

really interesting to say. Bummer.

I'm suppossed to tag ten blogs, but i thought it'd be a lot more fun if i could encourage all of you to do this ;)

PS. It takes me a while to get back to your comments because for some weird reason my internet connection breaks every time

visit a blogger webpage.

Not something i'd usually wear, but some days i feel like dressing more girly. I had this skirt for a long time but i don't wear it as often as i used to. My style has definitely changed over the years, and even though i try to make a 'closet cleaning' every once in a while, there're some pieces i just refuse to let go for a reason i haven't discovered yet.

The weather has been amazing this past few days. We had some really cold days, but these days temperatures reach the 68F.

PS. Thanks a lot for welcoming me back to the blogworld.

Como quieres que te quieras shirt; Ayres skirt; Paula Cahen d'Anvers boots.

Last week i wrote what would be my next post, but never got to post it. I've heard that when you're not feeling good, or when something's bothering you, writing it down should help you get it all out of your chest and make you feel better. I guess that's what that post did for me. These past few days haven't been the greatest, so that's why i took a little time off the blog. Luckily, i'm done with the first school semester, and that leaves me some free time on my hands to do whatever i want with it. Obviously some of it would go into getting this blog right where it belongs.

With that said, apologies for the unexpected and unannounced hiatus.

PS. Went to see 'The proposal' today and really liked it. I'm a cheesy/love/comedy/chick flick kinda girl ;)
